Condo Showing Safety During a Pandemic

Looking for something to do this winter? While we all tend to hibernate a bit during the colder months or head down south to warmer temps, this winter is going to be very different. Forced hibernation makes us itch to get outside. And travel?...well, that’s out of the window for now.
Luckily, real estate is an essential service - people still need to buy, sell and move for many reasons. If you are one of those people, now is as good a time as any to search for your dream condo.
And the good news is that, as the pandemic continues, safety measures for condo viewings - especially new developments - have just gotten better. Let’s look at what you can expect:
By Appointment Only
Virtual showings are the norm right now, but when a condo or new development catches your eye, nothing beats seeing it in person. You still can by making an appointment with your Realtor. Pre-screening will be required prior to confirming an appointment.
Appointments are private showings allowing you to explore properties at your own pace with the full attention of your Realtor to answer all your questions.
Proper PPE & Sanitization
In addition to screening, any in-person showing will require you to wear a mask - properly - and keep your hands in your pockets - no touching anything. As a Realtor, I’m equipped with proper personal protective equipment, including an N95 mask, face shield and gloves. Hand sanitizer will also be made available. Offices and units are properly sanitized before and after showings to ensure everyone’s safety.
So if you are in the market to buy but were thinking you would wait a few months to see if things start getting back to normal, there is no reason to wait. First, we may not get back to “normal” for a very long time. And second, many of the changes that have been made to the way we buy and sell real estate are actually really great and innovative and are likely to remain.
Take advantage of this ‘down’ time and get out this winter to do some condo shopping.
